We are a New York State Farm Meadery located in South Wales/Holland, NY. Our meads are handcrafted in small batches using 100% New York State honey. We take the delicacy of traditional mead making and added our own twist on the ancient beverage creating something unique to be enjoyed no matter your taste preference.  We love experimenting with mead to produce our own unique flavors that you will not find anywhere else!

You ask what is Mead exactly?

Many historians have debated if mead is the oldest alcoholic beverage. It has been referenced in the ancient cultures of Greece, China, India and Egypt over 4,000 years ago. Some have claimed mead can be traced back to the African bush, more than 20,000 years ago! This would have been an accidental discovery of coarse. All it would take is some rain water mixed with honey and some natural yeast to come along and ferment it by accident. Once the BuZz was discovered, it was deemed a delicacy and given to the highest of class.

People tend to ask us "what is mead similar to... wine, beer, hard cider, liquor?" Well, all of them and non of them we say! Our meads range from 7-16% ABV, they can be dry to sweet, still to carbonated, left traditional or flavored with an endless combination of fruits, herbs, spices, hops and more. They even have their own uniqueness just from the honey used. Even the time of year or location can impart different flavors to the honey.
